The Role
Velcourt Greenwell Contracting is a farming business growing potatoes, onions, sugar beet and combinable crops, based in East Suffolk. The business also grows seed potatoes, ware potatoes and onion crops in West Suffolk.
The farm runs a fleet of modern machinery with up-to-date storage facilities and irrigation systems. The successful applicants will be joining a friendly team with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Job Responsibilities could include but are not limited to.
- Planting Potatoes
- Harvesting Potatoes / Onions
- Relief De-Stoning
- Drilling Sugar Beet
- Relief Spraying
- Fertiliser Spreading
- Bulk and Box trailer work
- Irrigation
- Machinery Maintenance
- General Farm Work
We are looking for candidates with the following.
- Ability to work safely, independently and with others
- High levels of attention to detail
- Self-motivated with an understanding of the importance of timings
- Ability to maintain machinery to a high standard
- PA1/2/4 and forklift ticket would be advantageous but training can be offered for the right candidate
Experienced operators as well as those wishing to progress their career will be welcomed. Training and support will be given to the right candidate.
