The Role
Hinton St Mary Farms is located just outside Sturminster Newton in Dorset. The home farm compromises 700 hectares and a further 420 hectares contract farmed on our sister estate, Rushmore. The business is also home to a 700 head heifer rearing unit; the farms involvement is limited to mucking out, providing feed and straw.
The farm operates a range of modern equipment after some significant recent investment, growing Winter Wheat, Spring Barley, Spring Oats, Grass and Maize. Both grain and forage. Alongside the arable and grassland there are extensive countryside stewardship and SFI agreements.
We are looking for a new full-time person to join our current team. The successful candidate will be willing to work on their own or as part of a team, be self-motivated and driven. Also, have a high attention to detail. This is an exciting role, most suited to someone willing to carry out a variety of different tasks and be part of a friendly family run estate.
Main duties include but are not limited to:

Operating Case Puma 240 CVX carrying out cultivations, drilling and spraying.

Relief combining and hedge trimming.

Trailer work, topping and rolling.

Telehandler operations, inc. mucking out and loading lorries.

Other general farm and estate work as required.
Requirements:

Full UK Driving License.

PA1 and PA2, ideally with previous sprayer driving experience.

Telehandler ticket would be beneficial, but training can be provided.

Experience with field operations such as cultivations and drilling.

Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
